Many have developed anxiety around this part of the classroom experience and we know the more that is shared the more that is gained. Silence stops the spread of diverse ideas, reduces sharing of experiences, and prevents students from participating in vital subject standards in meaningful ways. We will discuss strategies for creating a classroom environment and differentiated lesson options where students feel safe and confident so all voices can be heard.

This session will dive into some old school strategies like Carousel Stations, Sticky Dot Thoughts, and The Tea Party!. Then following these powerful pre -reading strategies, we will engage with Hexagonal Thinking… a powerhouse activity for post reading comprehension. These strategies will increase the rigor of your ELA classroom. This is not a “sit and get”  Come prepared to engage with your fellow colleagues…. Inorder to learn…. We must do!
