    Seminar Objectives

    • This Conference will offer more extensive practice on the Common Core Standards in the areas of curriculum, literacy strategies across the content areas, technology, assessments and performance tasks.

    • Technology, Tools, and Apps for the Common Core Classroom -

      In this session, you will see how educators take current curriculum and turn it into a more interactive practice. This is important as we move towards Common Core Standards and still compete with the ever technologically advanced student in our classrooms. Activities will include selections, apps, and tools from a Google Certified and SMART Exemplary Teacher. Resources and websites will be given to participants.     • Smarter Balanced Assessments Basics -

      This session is for those participants who are just becoming familiar with the Smarter Balanced Assessments. The Theory of Action for the Smarter Balanced Assessments and the types of assessment questions will be provided.     • 6-12 Math: Using the New Math Curriculum Framework - This workshop will provide an overview, implications and applications of the new Mathematics Framework.
      The purposes of the Framework are to guide teachers in the implementation of the California Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, including the Standards for Mathematical Practice; emphasize the focus, coherence, and rigor of the Standards; and support instruction for ALL students. The Framework also provides guidance on options for higher mathematics
