The Double Whammy of Discrimination: The Connection Between Attacks on CRT & LGBTQ+

This workshop will build awareness and knowledge of the coordinated assaults on Critical Race Theory and LGBTQ+ people, specifically in K-12 schools, across the United States. Historical connections will be drawn from The 1619 Project, UCLA's CRT Forward Tracking Project, and current HRC and ACLU data. Participants will also learn how #45's Executive Order 13950, inflicted in September 2020, reversed by President Biden shortly, thereafter, continues to serve as mentor text for those looking to codify discrimination at the local, state and federal levels. The assaults on CRT and LGBTQ+ are not coincidental, but rather a strategically intentional double whammy of discrimination. Intended Audience/(Grade Levels): This presentation is intended for adult learners/practitioners/leadership to build awareness on the coordinated attacks on CRT and our LGBTQIA+ family.
