This training will provide information to assist treasurers in carrying out a wide range of financial and reporting responsibilities assigned to this position. Topics covered include: establishing and maintaining the books and records of the Chapter; formulating a budget, and preparing financial reports, federal and state tax returns, and PERB reports. In addition, this session reviews fiduciary duties and best practices, as well as current developments from the Internal Revenue Service and the Franchise Tax Board that impact the local union.
