Transition to Adulthood: Strategies for K-12 and Beyond
Transition to Adulthood: Strategies for K-12 and Beyond” examines the concept of transition for students with disabilities, existing in all grade levels and classroom models, and being applicable to all disabilities. A range of assessment measures to determine student strengths, needs, and possible career pathways will be examined. Strategies for writing positive transition plans and goals will be introduced. Curriculum and student connections to local agencies and resources will also be explored. The session promises to be interactive and informative. Participants will leave with materials that they can begin applying with their own students immediately, with the goal of preparing them for the world of post-secondary academics, employment, and independent living.
