In the State of California, May 22 is “Harvey Milk Day.” Does your school or district celebrate it with any events or special lessons? In this session, we’ll look at one middle school’s annual “Harvey Milk Day” assembly program which you can take back to your school as a model. Incorporating readers, speakers, community organizations, and even musical performances, you can introduce ALL students to Harvey Milk’s activism and legacy.
